Irreplaceable

I wish I was Home...
Not here, in this beautiful house
With a big lawn and chained fence to secure my privacy
It's peaceful here
Plenty of silence to meditate
Open space to exercise my creativity
Of course, if you were in my shoes, you would love it here...
I know...I've heard it before
I should be grateful that I got out of the "hood"
Now I can make a fresh start
But starting over, can be so lonely
All the pretty materials in the world can't substitute the absence of the people you love
Their presence can't be replaced with a ride in a car
Or a movie on a brand new t.v.
It doesn't measure the same
And it doesn't fulfill your heart, just because you can chat with them on your computer or text them on your phone
The fact is...I'm Here
And you all, are There
And I can't say it enough, that I miss all of you

When I read this poem, I was reminded of the saying "home is where the heart is." A house is not a home unless you are happy and surrounded by the people you love, and this poem definitely exemplifies that notion.
