Isabel of Skåne

There are days when I find my spirit

wishing for a home and my heart

aching for embrace

longing for a flicker of warmth

as gray Winter sky

casts shades of loneliness in the cold.

Then gently you take my trembling hands

and I fall into your soothing arms

lost in your compassionate eyes

I am found in being where I belong.

Touch becomes a spark

the breaking of light into the dark

as soft flames glow the feelings grow

letting me know you won’t let go.

There are days when I find my spirit

whisked away to the green cliffs

while ocean waves and northern winds

dance as we do, and always will.

So as stellar Spring sun

casts rays of hope through the crisp air of a new day,

I know now, I need you.
