The Island

Deserted.

Abandoned.

Forgotten?

Not forgotten.

Alone? Yes.

To survive will be a challenge.  Positivity?  Think positive.

I can live.  What do I need?

Food.  Shelter.  Sleep. I can't live without those things.

Sanity.  I can't live without my sanity.

My ability to stay sane will waver.  I am alone.

Yet again, maybe not.

I have my thoughts, my memories, my inner self.

Alone? Yes.  Alone? No.

Which is it?

I am sane.  I am not insane.

Am I insane?

This is for me to decide.  I am alone.

An insane being does not know it is insane.

I am not insane.  I am sound in mind.  Perfect mental health.

A ship I see?

No.

Food I see?

No.

Friends I see?

Yes.

Can it be?  The ones I need the most, the ones who kept me in my right mind for so long?

My friends.  They are fading away.  Here I am!  Take me with you!

What a preposterous idea.  The idea that I could go with them.  I have friends here.

My thoughts, my memories, my inner self.

Alone? No.

Deserted? No.

Abandoned? No.?

Forgotten?  Yes.

Insane?
