Island Home

A home away from home

This is what we call it.

A place where no one but the locals

Linger longer than a day.

In the summer, tourists swarm the expanses

In search of instant sun and thrills.

But I am there for something more

Always something more.

I am there because I was raised there.

I am there because without it I would have no Eutopian escape.

I am there because it is where my family has lived and died.

I am there on that island because I cannot live without it.
