Islands in the Sky

I saw them hanging low and dark

Floating on the brink of December

Smudges of night

Painted through the sky

And hanging on the horizon

They are clouds

They are islands

Imagine the sky is an ocean

Mystical fog rising on the beaches

A sea full of mysterious masses

Seen only from afar

Islands of trees and islands of rocks

Unchated

Seen only by the imagination

The Islands in the Sky
