Isn't It Funny
I'm too young to give up.
but,
Do you really expect me to sit here
and listen to a lecture I've heard before?
Learning things I will never use?
I could've learned multiple courses by reading one book,
do you know how much time that would have saved?
Do you really expect me to care,
when you've told me, I'll make it nowhere with the grades I have?
You take so much of your time expecting me to succeed,
does it ever come to your mind that I haven't been given the opportunity?
Sure, you'll get a job for your 'advanced classes' and 'straight A's',
but being smart, is what keeps the job.
Last I checked, grades don't gage world smarts,
classes don't teach world smarts.
I thought you said this was to help me survive in the world.
Yet, I can't figure out what we are learning it for.
