This isn't love
My Heart
Has been beaten, hurt, and squeezed
Too close for comfort
While his hands haunt my dreams
The way they grab and drag
Across my skin
He says he loves me
But all I feel is sin
Lust, desire, and greed
This isn’t love
When that is all I see
Love is
Shared hopes and dreams
The want to be with you
Even when I scream
And I’m in tears
And in pain
And I know this love isn’t feigned
Why can’t this be love you ask?
Love is pure and isn’t a task
Love is
Holding each other
And not wanting to let go
Not because I tell you so
Love isn’t
Forced
And suffocating
So muchthat it’s hard to breathe
I need space
Can’t you give that to me?
We both need change
This isn’t healthy
We need time
So we can start over
And do it again correctly
Where we’re understanding
And caring
And sweet
Not give me this
Give me that
Just to feel complete
