This Isn't Love
THIS ISN’T LOVE
By Debi Lyn Th-11/03/22 ~ 7:30 pm
Why pray tell do I love you when I know it isn't right?
I want you to love me for more than just a night!
You say you really miss me, but I rarely hear from you...
and then you're gone in mere moments even when I do.
Surely this is not real love but just a want, a need, desire,
and when we pretend otherwise, we only play with fire.
Fire may well keep one warm, but it can also burn,
& I'M left cold regardless of how much my heart does yearn!
Yes, I want & need you; the desire's very strong.
Still you're not mine, nor shall you be,
so all of this is wrong.
