This Isn't You Talking

"This isn't you talking." But, I swear, it is. It's me. I'm raw. Broken. You don't believe me. "This isn't you talking." How could it not be? I am not a character when I'm like this. I'm sobbing and you can't see me. You don't trust me. "This isn't you talking." You stabbed me with those words. Of course it's me. It's just someone no one sees. You don't know me. "This isn't you talking." And with that, I don't trust you. I couldn't if I want to. I fight everyday, just You don't see me. "This isn't you talking." That's a lie, but no matter. I don't need to talk. I write and can suppress, And you don't read me.

Hi! My name is Elizabeth Davenport, and I'm a college student who loves all things language, no matter what language it is! I'm probably reading, writing, or dancing in the rain right now. I'm a featured poet, Aura, on diesandnoctis.com (go check them out: they're great!), and use the names E.D., Elie Dav, and Elizabeth Davenport when posting my own.
