Is it?

Is pain a tangible thing?

Can you touch it?

Can you grab it?

If you could

Would it be slimy?

Disgusting?

Greasy?

Or would it be slick?

Solid?

If pain were a person

Would it be:

Cunning?

Ugly?

Superior?

A bully?

Or would you treat it as a friend?

Something to help you through

The rough times

And the tough nights?

Would it be your:

Protector?

Advisor?

Guardian?

If pain were a thing

Would it be:

Your prized possession?

Your favorite doll?

Or that ugly sweater your aunt got you?

Or is Pain just mental?

Imaginative?

Something you can push to the back of your mind

And ignore?

Is pain a secret disorder we all have?

Some are able to push it back

Some aren't

And some just...

Ignore

So is pain mental or physical?

Can you reach out and grab it?

Or can you ignore the mental image?

I know what I can do,

But do you?
