it calls me

eyes yearning for the horizon line

flippers longing to touch the sand

both dying to be where the other one is

family pulling her from the shore

family pulling her deeper below

they don't understand

they meet in the shallows

halway in each others worlds

their hearts are full

days spent dancing and splashing

and talking and swimming and dreaming

together

hand in hand they lay

happy for when land and sea merge

something beautiful is created

walk by the shore and you may see

the girl and her mermaid

content and full of love, at last.
