It Changes Me

What I write won't help me when I'm dead

But it'll help me appreciate the time that I've got

It may not tell you who I might be

But It'll tell you who I'm not

What I write won't buy me a bed

But it'll get me out of it in the morning

It won't work the 9 to five for me

But it'll help when my life changes without warning

I write not to change what has been said

I write for it's something I'm inclined to do

For the need flows out of me

But in the end my writing doesn't change you
