it comes in waves
it comes in waves and i don’t know how to swim and i forgot my bathing suit
but it’s okay because
i’m moving my legs anyway
im learning to swim anyway
i’ll go some day but not today
not today
today lets just sit on my bed
i’m alone now they’re gone or asleep
and this is the second time today i’m the only one in the house who’s awake
and i’m sitting cross legged on my floor
and it’s the safest i’ve ever felt outside of your arms
so i’m grabbing my sleeves and i’m pulling them down over my fingers
and around my head and onto the floor
ill let it consume me
id sleep in this sweater if i could
so i do
and it’s coming in waves
but i don’t know how to swim
so i’m learning
