It Could Never.

It could never be you

the one that catches their wind,

from their batted lids

it could never be you

being embraced by the feel

of their ribs.

it could never be you

to stroke their masculinity

it could never be you

to share with him your femininity

it could never be you

your hand and his

key.

it could never be you

or you and me.

it could never be you

the ancestors of african descent,

african dances,

and dark skins; that were once chained

it can never be you

with him, spanish tongues and peppers

white red and green sweaters

it can never be you

his people and their grape vines

no realities of you you and him

glasses of wine

it could never be you

they just don't intertwine, because

rolled r's and "don't axe"

refuse to be one

stop thinking it could ever be you

because you are nobodies one

it could never be you

because his list of beauty's

are as long as your uglies

it could never be you

because his tango doesn't match

your krump

but this lump in my heart has me, wondering

"chicken and salsa, taste good together?!!"

so honey it could be me

we'd be good forever

but it won't

it could never be you

his winks are just a zone

it could never be you

friend

it could never be you

because even though your brilliance

exceeds your measures it goes

beyond no one else's

looking deep into his eyes

his dark mexican forest

you wish there was something for us

it could never.

Be.

You.

his smile melts you for no reason .

it could never be you

because you don't think it could

but mexico and impeerial beach

aren't any different

they're both your seperate hoods

it could never be you

your smile doesn't reach him, with

the missing center that waves hello

you can't compare to the "hola" smiles

it could never.

be.

you.

Poetry has always been my passion. I was raised in a Christian home, and I attend The Rock Church of San Diego CA. My poems reflect who I am, my issues, the issues I witness, and overall God. I've been writing poetry for my youth group for 5 years. The moment I saw this scholarship I KNEW I had to apply, it correlates to things I love and I am passionate about. Poetry and my Future
