It Glimmers
It glimmers
Like moon through a broken glass.
It glimmers
Like the sun through a water bottle.
I can see,
Animals fly past,
The earth under my feet,
A rock just a few feet away.
Dark shadows pass over the light,
Effectively, immediately,
Blocking it off
Until they move away.
I can feel,
The cold surroundings,
The small animal nibbling
At my fingertips.
I can't hear.
I'm deaf.
It's quiet.
All I hear is the blood in my ears.
I realize
I'm underwater
I realize
I'm subsurface.
The animals flying,
Fish swimming.
The fractured light,
The top of the epipelagic zone.
At my fingers,
A small fish nibbles,
And I'm wet
And I'm cold.
I don't know
How I got down here.
But it's cold.
I'm cold.
I forget
How to swim
I forget
How to breathe
But I remember
That in quiet
There is bliss
And so I must be in bliss.
