IT HAPPENS
*POEM BY ALICK MUSHEKWA*
*"IT HAPPENS!"*
It all happens when we are asleep, deeply swallowed in a deep sleep
People are killed on the streets on expense of their Peace
Traveling at night as if on patrol, all in the name of wanting to put food on the table
Sunday has become a working day, Chinese increase rates of payment just to entice a poor African Christ follower
Life has become a cheapest commodity, as prostitutes use their body as capital to invest in sexual business
Foregoing the risks involved in the game of playing on the edge of the earth
With a little push from sugar daddies, off they fall in the bottomless pit
It is so shameful like a prostitute caught in day light, and painful like a decayed tooth
This is a world where justice is bereft, no one know where it is found
No one has ever wondered what it is to be beaten for no reason
Accused of what you never perpetrated and taken to prison
Leaving a wonderful life of being at home to enjoy your comfort zone
Life is lost, in a speed of light, you may fly like a kite, disappear and gone
No man has ever concurred to this simple truth of saying life is like a born
We had Zambian nation footballers, but they all died in the river of garbone
No one is faithful, you may be used today and respired tomorrow like carbon
*IT HAPPENS*
When we all are asleep, a lot happens
People slowly lose their life just like a ball pain losing ink
No body has ever been bothered, or to figure it out, or perhaps to think
We've all lost direction, we are like a Titanic which is to sink
If life was like a colour, I would have loved to paint it pink
Or if it was shareable, I would have shared a link
Nonetheless, life is like a juicy, you drink what you can and spit what you can't
You chew and live for others, however you don't chew more than you can swallow.
You can not play football using hands, otherwise, if it so happens then it will be a foul
*IT HAPPENS*
