It Is "I"

Shine…

Shining her light she burns the feeling of hopelessness to ashes

Putting the feelings of insecurity and anxiety into the flames of don’t try me

Walking into a room staring at faces with shattered mirrors as hearts

She begins to speak the language of wisdom

But really…

Really does she speak her truth or is it just a facade

Looking into her hamper of childhood memories she realizes the fear of no love

A product of her parents she built a wall that is as strong as a thousand men,

A heart so fragile that she won’t let anyone in to mend the cloud of agony

Though…

Though her strength goes without saying she yearns for an end to this hunger

The day she will no longer be afraid to wonder if anyone loves her

Looking into her veins of color one popping after another because of the stress of those above her

Savoring every breath afraid that it will be her last, holding on to things that won’t last

Still…

Still she wears a mask to hide the root of her frustrations

Illustrations turned into animations of what could be

As she smiles and closes her eyes she listens to the whisper of her mind pleading

Show me.

Show me how to love the right way

Help me.

Help me to believe myself no matter what comes my way

Teach me.

Teach me to know that everything will be okay

Show me.

Show me how to love myself in a better way

Help me.

Help me to fight on till victory day

Teach me.

Teach me to see the gifts upon me

Happiness come back to me

Joy don’t leave me

Peace stay with me

It is I who need thee
