It Makes You Feel

A single word is written,

Makes everyone feel something inside.

Some warm as a mitten,

Others thoughtful or snide.

Poems can give someone a mere chuckle,

Or profoundly change someone's life.

However, a poem that will never buckle

Is one that cuts someone deep as a knife.

One poem that no one shall ever forget, they never can,

To put it simply, this story of a dying boy,

While it brings sadness, not joy,

Makes me appreciate everything I have and always laugh,

It makes me want to live my life to the fullest, not just half.
