It Must End

All around me

I can find it everywhere.

All of this technology...

It's suffocation leaves me impaired.

I'd trade places with the past if I could;

Maybe things would be better off.

When I speak my ideas

people just scoff.

Is the thought of simpler times

too much to bear?

When we are without technology, we start to whine.

Leaving our phones behind is such a scare.

What if we worried less about the instant here and now

and more about others?

What if we had more respect for our fathers and mothers

and less for the Facebook post of another?

Make a big enough scene

and people start to realize

that self absorption can be redeemed;

it just takes seeing it through someone else's eyes.

Technology can be a good thing,

but the way it's going, it will be the death of us.

To rely less on it is a must

and into a new age we need to be thrust.

It's time we worry about other people

and less about ourselves.

The common concern for the hearts of the majority is feeble

and our concern for "me" is all that dwells

The norm is just too norm.

Let's stop this technologically enthralled and selfish trend.

Instead, let's start all over again.

Put this madness to an end.

Try talking in person to make a new friend.

This phase must come to an end.
