It Rains Tonight

It rains slowly tonight.
That sad kind of rain,
Where sorrow fills each raindrop,
With some silence, with some pain.

It rains coldly tonight.
Emotions turn to ice.
Mind is scattered and unclear.
Nothing spoken is precise.

It rains violently tonight.
Emotions are stirred,
Words are thrown back and forth
They’re constantly felt—and never heard.

It rains peacefully tonight.
That relieved kind of rain.
Where it washes away the sadness,
And brings you tranquility, it keeps you sane.
