Is it Really True?
Dear Jessica,
You said you loved me,
But is it really true,
Have I ever been that much to you
You say, of course you mean that much to me
But how much of that is true
Though I am literally a piece of you
It doesn't seem like that is true
Whatever I have done to you
Forgive my choices about the choices I never made
Forgive me for a life I never chose
I love you, you say you love me, but I don't think that is true
Have I ever been that much to you
If you really loved me, please tell me so
Or please tell me what I did to lose all of it
But, how can a 4 year-old girl cause such a mess
Does she have to ask for forgiveness
Or is she the one giving the forgiveness
Forgive me for the choices you made on my life
And I'll forgive you for all the choices you didn't make
If you ever loved me, please tell me so
I forgive you, but if you ever loved me,
Please help me grow
But tell me, is it really true
Have I ever been that much to you
I forgive all the pain and sadness you have given me
If you forgive me for having a life not chosen by me
I say I love you and it's really true
You have always been that much to me
You are a piece of me I can never forget
Let me free of all the lies
And let all the truths fly
Help me, help you be free too
So tell me, is it really true
Have I ever been that much to you
Sincerely, your birth daughter,
Sandra
