It Seems so Simple

If I were alone and an island squatter,

what would I need to survive?

Fresh drinking water!

I hate to be so practical,

But we truly need it to sustain our lives.

It seems so simple – almost laughable!

But, putting something into writing,

about fresh drinking water –

is difficult to say the least.

What would sound witty and charming?

Perhaps searching for a tropical feast!

Could this actually be interesting –

a poem about drinking water?

I hope so,

for it will assist me in paying

for my alma mater!
