It Starts with You
My life started with you.
I can say this because it's true.
Your words start a fire in me that burns so bright that nobody can take my light;
Or more so stop my light with the means to take my life- and they never will.
My day starts with you
Early in the day and the ends of the dark night,
As I think of your sweet words and comforts that you give me.
You help me grow my life tree.
Or is it tree of life because with you it doesn’t matter because you’re happy to see me do right.
For you I try my hardest.
For you I try to fight the temptation.
For you I pray every night that you will have mercy on this nation,
On this world – the world that you created.
You started the beginning with day and night.
You gave this world people, animals, silver, gold, and everything else that seems to make people appreciate you more.
If only they knew that your home always has an open door.
If only they knew what I know or what I’m learning I’m sure their hearts will fill with the yearning that mine has.
But alas my God, they do not know.
They do not know that you are a mighty God,
A righteous God.
I heard someone say you are mine and I’m yours.
Praising you is never a chore.
You are my before, my now, and my after.
Without you I am no better.
You are my God in my life helping me to do right.
Thank you for that and we’re still scheduled for our talk tonight.
