It takes more than me

² Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching.

A teacher I would be ... to show the Way to others

thinking that I understood ... more than the hearers.

It did not take much effort but still, I crammed in much

to show my superiority ... to rise above my peers.

My understanding or lack of it ... became my chosen idol.

Thinking it would present ... God with great favor.

Pride was growing fast ... and I could not see it

until the Spirit woke me ... in my silly endeavor.

To be inspired and to teach ... is a gift of God.

That is why most instruction ... misses what it takes.

Self-chosen and appointed ... most go through life explaining

the things they seldom understand ... making it appear fake.

It takes the Holy Spirit ... to guide you through Life’s lessons.

It takes the Hand of God ... to lead you in the Way.

It takes hearts prepared by Him ... to listen to instruction.

Yes, it takes Christ Jesus ... God’s Will to explain.

“Fresh” bread out of “God’s” oven ... will taste very stale

if it is a repetition ... of what comes of our own mind.

It takes the mind of Christ ... for true revelation

beyond our understanding ... where all truth resides.
