Is It Them? Or You?
Is it them?
Or you?
Is depression, negativity, and "bad stuff" all that's in this world?
Or is it just all you choose to see?
The fact that you've no friends to talk to
No buddies to hang out with
Is it them?
Or you?
Thinking one knows all is a perfect example of ignorance
But isn't it all the same thinking you're the only one different?
Could it be that you haven't made that jump?
That willful leap into conversation or discovery of others
Something that you're afraid of, but won't admit it
Is it them?
Or you?
A kid sits alone at a table, who is scolded every day
And even though several internal nudges are received to go talk to him
You don't, because the fear of being treated like him is overwhelming
That external motivation that keeps you from progessing in life
Is it them?
Or you?
No, not everyone can be friends with you
Nor you with everyone
But who says it'll hurt if a word or two is expressed
Maybe uplifting words or just casual conversation
What's holding you back is nothing but yourself
An invisible, but solid wall
Is it them?
Or you?
Know you can make a difference, if you want to
If you want to
Let it be you, to change
Make that step
