Is It Time?

I sigh again for what seems like the thousandth time

I have no idea how to cope with your intrusion.

For nineteen years I have gone without knowing you

and yet, here you are; are you a delusion?

Father, if that's supposedly what you are to me,

show me how to trust you, believe in you, love you.

Is it time to give it a chance?

Is it time to let go of all the pain and anger?

Is it time to reconcile?

I think so.

I don't cry for what could have been,

you missed out, I have a true father now.

So why do I feel guilt-ridden to let you in?

You continue to get under my skin. How?

Father, if that's what you're now choosing to be,

prove to me your sincerity, your loyalty, your integrity.

Is it time to forgive?

Is it time to let you get to know me?

Is t time to combine our worlds?

Possibly.

I don't look forward to seeing you

because I worry about doing to you what you did to me.

Maybe, in time, our distance can be closed

but for now, I need you to let me breathe.

Father, if that's what you will be to me,

give me time to find time for you, love for you.

Is it time to give you a chance?

Is it time to move forward with you?

Is it time?

Yes.
