Is it too much to ask

is it too much to ask

     for a moment to bask

     in the wonderfully simple,

     a smile a dimple

aroused by the makings of God?

and everything

     i can sing

     i could bring

     (and everything

     i have thought

     things I've fought

     things I've bought)

can, not ever, measure to this:

that all that is me

and all things I can see

     are so wonderfully crafted

     so carefully drafted

     in this beautiful beautiful world

i ask for nothing more

     than a spirit of awe

     to never bore

at the wonder of it all
