It took every ounce I

It took every ounce I had to bare my soul

You blocked out the noise

Like a broken phone meant the end of us

the pain unbearable now that I'm no longer submerged in survival

while I play pretend in the present tense; the crash was magnificent

Find myself walking through every stage of grief in 24 hours

eyes rimmed red, face swollen with flashes of memory

That man reminds me of you.

The taste of coffee hits my weary soul

the call for nicotine coating my insides

a wealth of good intentions along with the rising of the sun

light adorning my halo

A glass jar full of moments

to share glimmering against a sturdy alchemy of wood
