It was all but a dream

It was all but a dream.

When you told me you loved me.

Foolish lies, into naïve ears.

Broken promises, stream into a tattered heart.

What was it all for?

True Love…

Never a happy ever after.

A beast is always a beast.

But I will always love,

The shattered man.

No matter it it’s a show,

The pretty smile,

Lovely laughter

Bashful banter,

Lustful love.

The beauty broke,

Overgrown with callous roots.

Forgotten by the father.

Overcome with fear,

The banter isn’t playful

The voice is harsh.

You can’t have beauty without a beast,

but you can’t have it with one either.

The beauty fell,

And was taken,

And is now all gone, overgrown in the bush.

It was all a dream,

A beast is such,

Only malicious

And cold.

Now beauty is forgotten

And we keep on dreaming,

happy ever after…  her once prestiene surface.
