It was a lie

It was just one laugh

one look here and there

that turned into thousands of laughs

and smiles

and stares

It was just one word

one look here and there

that turned into thousands of words

late in the night

He was my world

my eyerything

my rock

till he left me

crying, screaming

"come back"

He had told me he loved me

adored me

"I swear"

never to leave me

He told me he cared

It was all just a lie

Because he didn't

care

love me

adore me

want me

It was a lie

but why do I care?

Now I see him every day

looking at her the way

he used to look at me

with that smile that could take my breath away

He loves her

he adores her

he cares for her

he wants her

but why do I care?

it was all just a lie
