It Was Time

It was the people around me that changed me

I realized I was toying around with life,

While everyone else was moving forward.

I was stagnant with progress,

While everyone else was stepping up.

I fell into the crowd of laze, befriending people with no goals.

My parents warned me about how easy it is to fall into “that crowd”.

I never thought I would be the one that others talked about.

I lost stable friends for my interest to be a part of people, and the party, instead of creating my own life.

But I found a new hope.

I found a new face.

I looked in the mirror and said I’m going to change my ways.

I take the life I have, and build with what it is

I have no choice but to step up like everyone else did.
