It Was You
I don't know how to write about you.
I don't know how to write about our road trips without ending them with a tragic car crash.
I don't know how to write about you surprising me with roses without saying how I got stuck by the thorns.
I don't know how to write about meeting your grandparents without adding that they didn't like me.
I don't know how to write about us making love without telling how you choked me.
I don't know how to write about you, and I couldn't ever put my finger on the reason why until now.
I don't know how to write about you because you're good, not bad.
I don't know how to write about you because, in all this darkness, you were the light that showed me the way home.
