It Wasn't Love

Tinderella, That’s what I thought

Have I found my prince charming? Is he really that tall?

Beautiful brown eyes that stare into my soul

Oh, how I didn’t know that you could turn so low

It started out magnificent with “come over baby”

Then turned into “bitch you’re fucking crazy”

You played with my head, You played with my heart

Still I never knew you could go that far

Grabbing my hair in a violent way

Exposing my body for your friends to see

I felt so empty, I felt so lost

I didn’t think you would hurt my heart

You said with a smirk “I know you’ll listen to me”

“You’d do anything in the world for me”

Well I won’t do that, that’s not love

That’s shameful and punishing and I am worth. So. Much.

I stumble home crying. My makeup, and heart a mess.

And go into the bathroom to cope with this stress.

One day the sun started to shine again

I met a man and you are nothing like him

There was no fasad or game

No tricks, no play

I can come home and fall in his arms

Knowing damn well he will do me no harm

I ask him why he treats me so good

He whispers in my ear #BecauseIloveyou, and I should
