Itinerant

I have walked every inch of this town

In hope I get a glimpse of you

The things that led to this situation, why

Why am I awakening now?

The guilt stares back at me

I remember the way you laughed on the swings

And the first time I consoled you when you fell off

How we slipped away in time

Alone, with only my broken heart and my bag

My bed is like a nomad, always moving

But the unsettling never moves with it

They say you need a job for a house, but you need an address first

The irony is inequitable

My life turned to clear skies

You take me in

You forgive me

I lived for this moment
