It's About Time to Start Giving Back

God gave me this gift so now it's time to give back to Him,

I am finally going to let go of my sin.

Because there are people who are feeling like God doesn't love them,

So these words could make them realize that they are not alone.

Pick up the weak,

Give to the needy,

Love the unloved,

Embrace the hated,

Because I am not going to act like my own slate is clean.

So let me fix my eyes on what is unseen,

Since our eyes are temporary and sometimes this world is scary,

And all I want to do is be eternal.

If someone reads this years from now,

I don't care if they remember my name,

I care if they know the name of Jesus Christ,

The Man who died to give them life.

Because I have been taking more than I really deserve,

And it's about time to start giving back.

Let these words love someone as He has loved me,

Because I once bore chains,

Until he set me free.

I am no longer in the bondage of condemnation,

Because if you are in Christ you are a new creation.

So please let no one judge these words by who wrote them,

Or spoke them,

But Who they were meant to glorify.

I have been a monster, a freak, an outcast,

But I am God's work of art.

So let me write for Him,

Let me show others that maybe there is more than making a living and dying.

Because there is a different between making a living and actually living.

We weren't creations of a random chain reaction that turned nothing into something,

We are works of art crafted by the greatest Artist of all time.

I know this because He turned this nothing into a something,

That's why I think it's about time to start giving back.
