It's All Gone
My hands don't have the strength to slide the blade across my throat or to pull the trigger on the gun that's resting against my head.
My legs don't have the strength to keep walking when the ground has stopped or to step off the chair while the rope hangs loosely around my neck.
My throat doesn't have the strength to swallow all 26 pills from the bottle or to hold my breath inside of it long enough for my mind to give out.
My body doesn't have the strength to refuse food & water for more than 68 straight hours or to smoke enough cigarettes to make my lungs cancerous.
My foot doesn't have the strength to push harder on the gas pedal when I'm facing the end of the road or to take too long of a stride while standing at the top of a staircase.
But if I was to be gunned down on the street or held under the water for too long, I wouldn't have the strength to fight back.
