It's all worth it

6 am I wake to the sound of my brothers dropping toys

Another monday fo

8 hour screaming, stressing, sighing

School seems so everlasting

But it's all worth it in the end

For the girl in the shelter who got her Masters in Criminal Justice

For the homeless kid who won $10,000 for entering an essay for a scholarship

Between watching my siblings at home because mom has to work two jobs

Day and night

Trying to make a living and not living to survive

But it's all worth it

My mind is tired

My body is weak

My throat is screaming "Don't touch that!"

"Mom's gonna kill you!"

But she won't

Because she lays to rest as soon as she enters our

Single

Family

Home

Cooking dinner for four

Writing MLA format essays till my finger turn blue

But it's all worth it

Soon I'll be able to support my family

Soon my mom won't have to work two jobs

Soon we won't have to push the car to start

Don't give up hope yet because

Soon.... I'll be able to say

It was all worth it
