It's All Up to You

I won’t cry over spilled milk But I’ll yell into the heavens because of bumps, scars and bruises Emotionally ruined Battered by hatred’s brutality Wounded by the serpent’s tongue spitting showers of tears down my soul I’ll take it Strength unveiled by my restraint Feeling sorry for them I want to retaliate but I wish upon a star asking they be repaired I was told to never let a man pull me low enough to hate him So I stay on my knees praying Constantly reminded of others who endured the struggle I take it Irritated ‘cause the pain seems inescapable I’ll always hear the hissing my oppressor begging for screams I’ll won't in this battle for all eternity For my love begins to reign over another man’s ignorance I begin to get that it’s worth it I’ll take the bumps, scars, and bruises Emotions ruined Words continuously wounding my spirit Scraping me harshly Reopening scabs Poisoning my mind Draining But I’ll take it ‘Cause there can be no great social gain without individual pain
