It's an art

If you should laugh at me, then that's okay

But if there's something I couldn't live without?

Television is what I have to say

A painting, a drawing, or a poem

All can invoke a sense of emotion

These together are what we call the arts

But people assume that television 

Is all Kardashians, cartoons, and farts

But if you think hard enough you will find

TV and other arts have much in kind

With a power so great as to replace

The reality of life, in all case

The complexities of life to create

The sense of joy, laughter, sadness, or hate

To think of the genius that it must take

To move these feelings into a new state

To distract one's mind from the normal day

And connect with strangers so far away

Is truly the most beautiful ally

That television shows have made me cry

The Newsroom, The West Wing, The Office too

Are so great that without I could not do
