Its Because I love you
It’s Because I Love You
Sometimes I close my eyes and there lies a story
Of you and me
It’s a story not unknown to fairytales or daydreams
And sometimes I feel like it can’t be as good as it seems
Each memory fills the story- our story
As we grew and played without a care or a worry
Memories of teasing and laughing together
Sometimes I like to pretend I can go back and relive those moments forever
Because this story changed me, made me happier and braver from the start
And throughout the pages and chapters you slowly stole my heart
Sometimes I wonder how it all came to be
You and me
And sometimes I can’t help but wonder why
Every time I think of you and me I always seem to smile
I fumble for reasons why I got so mad or let you see my jealous side
As I remember how you fought to remind me you were on my every side
I can’t help but ask myself what I was possibly thinking,
Giving my heart to a boy I knew would be leaving.
But than I like to remember how content and safe I felt,
How one look at your side smile could instantly make my heart melt
People try to tell me two years down the road we could never be
You and me
But to this I can’t help but deny their words and say it isn’t true
Because looking back at what we had, it won’t change in a year or two
Don’t worry I will still live and my life wont come to a stop
But know that you’re a boy that seems impossibly hard to top
And through the distance and through the time that I know will come our way
I want you to know I’m willing to see what happens as we take it day by day
When people ask me why I feel this way or when I find myself questioning it too
Me and you
I will go back to the pages of our memories and replay our story again
That way it will remind me what it was like to be as happy as we were back then
Because as I read and remember too I know I will find the reason why
Becoming as clear to me as the night we said goodbye
As if it’s something I think I already knew
It’s because I love you.
