It's Been Nice

It's been nice, Al the highs and the lows, From the mountains, to valleys, and even down in the dark abyss. All the joyful moments Filled with mournful scorn. It's been nice. All the moments of glee in the sun and the moon-lit nights so full of fun. The charismatic thoughts so free And our hearts so full of liberty! It's been nice. Moments alone with you The number of two, united as one. Together for all eternity, we said, Yet time told quite a separate tale. But It's been nice. And fun, and ecstatic! And all the while we hadn't seen it, These joyful lives with dark clouded thoughts overhead, Eventually, all the teas had been shed... But it's been nice. Even the times of terror Our lives so immensely controlled by fear And the constant thought of what could possibly come next Then the joy decided to fade... But it's been nice. Yet the colors of thine yes remained And upon my mind, your smile doth stained! The image soon burned straight through, How could this have become of me and you?! But it's been nice! So nice, in fact, that the corner of our lives were lead so full of tact! And the feelings i felt so strongly for thee Began seeping into a sorrowful sea! Yet where is thee now?! Believing in it all? The tides have changed, but why and how?! And from the surges emerge the cries that i call: It's Been Nice! I regret nothing... Quite a cliche, i know. Yet through all the mournful songs we sing, From the skies, it begins to snow! Yet not merely precipitation but the ashes of what had once burned: The passion, the desire, the heart-felt songs so red hot With the love of thine life And mine as well. These ashes settled around us. And with its weight, our thoughts were suppressed. These hearts grew so heavy With the residue of what had once been And what could have become. I regret nothing. Not a single moment spent with thee, Nor my sail being thrust to sea! Not the moments of bitter exchange Nor the thoughts of all of our shame! I regret not a single thing!! Yet the ashes have now settled, And time has turned the page... But it's been nice.
