its been over 9 months since

its been over 9 months since he left us there

barely 8 months since i left you there

just 7 seconds since i tried to join you there

youd be barely 5 weeks old and your smile would light up my world there

you were mind and i remember 4 in the morning waking up in tears because the pain was mind numbing and i wanted you there

3 pills in the morning

2 shots at night

1 little baby who would never see the light

i write nonfition, freeform poetry. it can be triggering to some but it displays the harsh realities of life that many people live. i am currently a junior in high school and am hoping to be an American Sign Language interpreter. i enjoy poetry because it opens the gateways to the soul and there is nothing you can do in it that is wrong. for me, every line is a memory and each word is a sword that protects me from my thoughts.
