It's Been a While

I'm told you are something of a big shot now

The head of a successful company, I think

a most esteemed businessman.

My memories of you are so different
from the man you're said to be today

You were a wanderer and a dreamer

but I don't think this is quite what you intended

when you gazed at the night sky
with a certain expectation in your eyes
and held out your arms toward the stars
as if you could reach them all
just by wishing.
