It's Easier Said Than Done

I watch graceful cries

They burn my tongue

They burn my lips

They burn my eyes

It’s easier said than done.

I’m numb.

I think I think I think

My head is pounding

My ear drums retire.

It’s easier said than done.

I smile because it’s easier than words.

To tell them all the truth.

To tell them how I actually feel.

It’s easier said than done.

I thought poems were supposed to rhyme?

But that was before I saw that life doesn’t make sense.

Watch me overcome.

Watch me grow to the person you didn’t expect.

Watch my eyes heal

Watch my heart mend.

Watch my soul grow wings and fly.

Even if it can’t see where it’s going.

It’s easier said than done?

Watch me.
