It's How
Can I trust you?
Isn't a question that needs to be asked.
Will the thought of you, throwing it in my face hold true?
No.
It's a fleeing thought, never to lead a
coup d'etat on my brain.
When you see a sad look in my eyes,
it isn't pity that you put on a chain
Instead, it's the way you brush my mane,
wipe away bloodstains
and how you always attain a smile
even from down the aisle
It's how you make small moments worthwhile
how you make me laugh like a juvenile
how you make my heart blaze like a wildfire
It's how no abuse leaves your lips
instead your words are like honey
dripping from my fingertips
It's how I know I can trust you
that you won't use my weaknesses
to feed on like leeches
or turn your voice to screeches
Because I love you, you say
everyday
and how much you love me
outweighs my flaws
effortlessly
