it's just lately

it's just lately I've been thinking about you and the things we used to do always running around town
without a care without a frown
before the world started ragging on us
before it started showing us what we're not
before we started thinking of what the others got
and got just lately I've felt so alone
because when you're not there I just don't feel quite at home
and nothing feels alright
it's just lately I've been thinking about us of our all around trust
before the world started cheating us
throwing us around without a care to be found
now we no longer go out into town always walking around with a frown.
only thinking of what we don't have
taking whatever's up for grab
it's just lately I've been thinking about us
about who we used to be before we turned less into a we but more into a you and a me
now I don't quite know why I am saying so
but I just want you to come home
