It's Me that You See

If you tell me who I can be

I’ll tell you I can only be me

I can’t fit in the crowd like the people at school

If I tried that approach I might look like a fool

If it’s me that you want then it’s me that you’ll get

I play my cards right so I won’t lose the bet

I’m unique as a peacock

I work hard around the clock

My inner athlete won’t back down from a fight

But if I am wrong I’ll tell you you’re right

Girly’s not my thing

But I can still wear a ring

When I sweat I glisten

When you speak I’ll listen

Like what you see

Cause I can only be me
