It’s more than a feeling

Worshipping God is more than a feeling.It’s more than the feeling you get when you raise up your hands so high to the heavens during a worship service, its more than an emotional connection which lasts for a few minutes when your favorite worshipper holds the mike to sing that worship song or the instrumentalist strikes your favorite chord... It goes beyond the dance moves and grooves. You know that adrenaline you feel right after listening to the preacher man exhort you to do more for God? You make plans in your head to love God more after that Sunday but next thing you know you can only hold on til Friday. The feeling doesn’t last cos actually if you have thought about it, it’s just a feeling. They go and they come. And once the music stops, once Grace is said and you walk right out of church, it is up to you to sustain that feeling but no it’s just a feeling. So what do you do, you dive deep into the Word, constantly and persistently pursue the gospel in order to stay in connectivity cos the wider the distance between you and God, the more that feeling fades away. You speak, listen, write, walk, dance, and act the word in every way that you can big or small until it no longer becomes an option but a default.  You give it your best shot lest you fall short. You continually desire and God will bless that desire with a burning fire shut up in your bones so you can’t retire. At this point, it ceases to be a feeling, it becomes a habit that you can’t do without since you are an addict.
