It's My Life

Havana, IL such a small town. It's where I grew up, this is how it went down. I am the middle child of 3 girls. My mom put us in dance classes, where we learned how to twirl. I worked hard in school to get good grades. Laundry, dishes, and mowing the lawn got me paid. My first job was at Peaches, a small ice cream shop. I learned how to clean, stock, and mop. I was active in clubs, student council, and sports. My head was in the classroom, but my heart on the court. I played volleyball and basketball in high school. Where in one I was the only senior; that was pretty cool! I had many friends, for which I could lean. It was really exciting to become homecoming queen. I picked up another job at the “eat fresh spot”. Subway, where the subs can be cold or hot. The year was over and high school was done. Graduation was bittersweet; time to have fun! College came fast, in the blink of an eye. Spoon River College, a community college nearby. I took my gen. ed. classes and was on the dean’s list. In two years I graduated with my Associate’s. My studies didn't stop here, I still have 2 years. I took a CNA class, to get a start into my career. I love all people, young and old. I go to ICC, but St. Francis is where my future will be told. I want to be a nurse, taking care of others every day. This has been my dream; I wouldn't have it any other way!
