It's Never Too Late

He said

Sweetheart

Baby girl

Sit tight

I'll be home tonight

He said

I miss you

All the damn time

I can't wait

To back home

I hope it's not too late

She's been counting sheep

Losing sleep

Waiting on a call

For a week

The days

Don't go by

The way they used to

She said

Honey

Baby boy

I miss you more

Then you could ever know

We've been here before

And I can't wait

To feel you again

It's never too late

He's been counting days

Counting wishes

Like stars

He's been heartsick

Breaking down

Need a quick fix

He's missing her face

Her pretty face

And these days

He can't find enough hours

In a day

To keep the ache

Away

So for now

He'll take out that old photo

And keep counting

Because he can't wait

Another minute

And it's never too late
